I haven't heard anything about catastrophic failure.

You do know that the machines undergo regular inspections.



Refineries are also inspected often but do have the occasional accidents/blowups. Outside chance of catastrophic incidents happening but that doesn't mean the threat isn't there, however remote.

Rawnoc said that the kiln/drum had to be made a strong as an army tank - why? What was the problem? Leaks, cracks, failure in what way?
