This has been a tough year on the Great Plains. My grass is crisp. It is a good thing it is fescue, it might come back. I got out the other night and watered many of the most important trees. I have been watering the garden my kids helped me replant after someone else made them to pull up the euonymus, asters, columbine and coreopsis that were there before.

I kind of have the attitude if the plant dies because it needs more water than I'm willing to give it, it isn't meant to be in my yard.
Reminds me of a remark a woman I met in British Columbia made: "If it doesn't thrive on benign neglect, it doesn't belong here!"
