I was in those projects (Cabrini) several times in the 60's working for Illinois Bell Telephone Co during the summer. Was shot at twice and had a chair thrown at my telephone truck from an upper floor. I had the great job of disconnecting and taking out phones from people that did not pay their bill. They loved me!!! As did the roach filled phones. You could submerse the phones in a bucket of water for over an hour and the roaches actually enjoyed it. We usually threw the phones away, but we had to turn some in. Best summer job I ever had......................
