As I remember ASMLF,Nikon,and Canon have all had a stake in CYMI starting long before the IPO.I believe they were equal stakes to ensure that none would run away with the technology.According to the report,ASMLF had an after tax profit of fl.31.1M or about $16M on the deal.

Cymeed, sorry but I don't agree with your post. The shorts don't control the market. In the final analysis it's the company and its prospects. Many a short has come up short as the price of the stock continues up. Think changes in short positions may have more significance. A large unchanging short position to me is more bullish than bearish. A sudden spurt in shorts is more troublesome as there may be a reason for the change and the ordinary shreholders are usually the last to know.
