On the news thread you wrote:

Obviously the reason for the re recoginition of earnings for Q3. What did the article say? It takes a year for this to filter through. Ugh!

This is not at all obvious. In fact your assumption that Corel has changed its accounting practices is absurd in view of CFO Chuck Norris' repeated statements to the effect that they have changed nothing.

All that Corel did in fact and as stated by the company was to take a one-time write-off to account for unsold inventory in the retail channel.

Your "Ugh" year hasn't started yet. Cowpland has said things about changing revenue recognition practices, but done nothing except take that one write-off. Read that 10-Q again for Q3. WordPerfect Suite 8 Professional shipped the last day of that quarter.

If you have hard news that Corel is restructuring its accounting to be in compliance with Statement of Position 97-2, or made any other significant changes in its revenue recognition, please let us know ASAP.
