Windows 7.x did not allow use of multi-core devices or HD screen (which clearly need muti-core power). As such, the device tech of W7.x was stuck in a single core past even though the OS did not show any limitations in that with its fluidity. That all changes with Windows 8. And I must admit a whole lot of sh*t changes with WP8 in hardware tech and in software tech. Multi-core CPUs/GPUs, HD displays, NFC, and all the new awesome software features of W8 (see below). There is no question that Microsoft and Nokia have a darn good chance to overtake Apple as the #2 platform in 2013/2014 with their cutting edge technology while Apple is still stuck in a 5 year old past with just a single POS app launcher. And Apple users are starting to get restless looking at the other platforms while they are stuck in the past.

Short Apple, long Microsoft, Nokia with WP8 and Google with Android. And also Google+ is going to steamroll Facebook in 2013. It's already happening but in 2013 it will happen in a much bigger way.
