<< As SUNW is app. 40% of my investment portfolio>>
I think Sun Microsystems is a very good company, but I would never put that much of my money into one company, especially a high tech company.
However, different strokes for different folks. Actually, I'm working towards no more than 5% of my money in any one individual stock. That way, I can sleep better at night, especially with diversification in different industries. Anyway, I'm not an investment advisor, so don't take anything I say as advise, Good luck with SUNW, but not too soon, I sold some Jan 40 covered calls on my holdings.

One fear is that machines with powerful Intel procs and Windows NT will start to eat into SUNW marketshare(s).

I personally have no clue whether this is for real or just another fear.

I would think that SUNW will keep trying to push the performance limits out on the high-end, but more competition at the low end may be a possibility.

What do the others think?
