I just got a call from the NY Islanders. They are having a meet and greet with John Tavaras at the Marriot (next to Nassau Colliseum) thisThursday night (6pm -830pm) and Friday at 12pm-2pm. Tavaras wasn't able to come to the scheduled one in June. They say his flight got cancelled. Supposedly, he is signing Jerseys for season ticket holders. I get 2 free Tavaras jerseys signed by John. I'll have some philosophical words for Tavaras in regard to leadership Thursday night. (I'm sure he'll be interested. LOL.) Fortunately, I wasn't able to come to the earlier one. ((My kids got stuck, but they had a nice reception and met (and hooked up with) a couple of the Islander Ice girls.) I'll be coming to this one late with my GF (who claims to be an Islander fan now).
