I don't think that the response was for me, but I try not to fall in love with any company. You are going to need to reserve all the love for the woman (or whatever your choice is) of your life.

What does ftel have that is so great and others connot match or have already passed?

I don't know how much time and energy ftel is commiting to a university, but it had better be ZERO. If this PR was good news to any investor, then I suggest McDonalds. The returns will be much greater.

Doug,

I think port density is important. Just adding another Tempest means more administration cost more complicated software if you want to manage distributed systems etc. But my harping on port density has more to do with engineering expertise. If the competition can create higher density boards (that work well), they have better technology on a board by board basis, and are better equiped to compete in the large system marketplace.

I have confidence that FTEL will do just fine, but I would be lying if I said that I thought they're the next killer app and that they were going to be the market leader in a year (or even that they were going to gap up or down tomorrow etc). The reason I try to inject some modicum of reality into the hype surrounding the FTEL Tempest is because I feel it is a good company with good prospects. But the hype makes them sound much better than they are right now. They're solid, with good prospects.
