Yes, but they are appealing to people's worst side. Just like the conservative's did during segregation. errr, ahhhhh......it was the democrats who were pro segregation and anti civil liberties for blacks. But don't let facts get in the way of your arguments. And there is a big difference between gay bashing and being anti gay marriage. Because someone doesn't believe in same sex marriages doesn't mean that they harbor any ill will toward homosexuals. It means that they believe that marriage is defined as being between a man and a woman. There's a couple of thousand years of precedent to support this view, so it is absurd to assume that it is simply based on ill will toward homosexuals.
