No it doesn't. There is no evidence to conclude that. In fact the less formal religion a society has, it seems the more humane and civilized it is e.g. Denmark and the Scandinavian countries, say versus the middle east.

Liberals mostly shed religion for secular humanism. I would agree spiritualism of kindess is necessary.

And studies have shown atheists know more about religion than religious people do. It is the liberals (who are mostly agnostic) that want to help the poor and downtrodden and the religious people who vote against said programs. Bush and the Republican congress refused to raise the minimum wage even for the military. That was the first thing the dems did when they gained control.

E.g. the Republican war on gays and women, refusal to vote for needed social programs and the support of the death penalty.

And recently it was shown 3 times as many conservatives watch porno (not that I feel that is bad) as liberals and liberals have less divorces.
