Inflation won't occur unless the Fed and Co. deem it so. They simply won't allow it to happen. They need to help aid the banks in cleansing their balance sheets,imo. When enough of the debt has been shifted back into consumers hands they then can let the Inflation Genie out of its bottle which I believe will inevitably happen.
This is just an uneducated guess.
