Ten, there isn't any God TO respond to Rick Perry's prayer! But, if there was, I doubt he'd respond to Rick Perry.

Perry didn't mention last years drought in the pray he delivered at the start of last years prayer meeting in TX:

After reading several passages from the Bible, he delivered this prayer:

“Lord you are the source of every good thing. You are our only hope. And we stand before you today in awe of your power and in gratitude for your blessings, in humility for our sins. Father, our heart breaks for America. We see discord at home. We see fear in the marketplace. We see anger in the halls of government. As a nation, we have forgotten who made us, who protects us, who blesses us. And for that we cry out for your forgiveness. We pray for our nation’s leaders Lord. For parents, for pastors, for the generals, for governors; that you would inspire them in these difficult times. Father we pray for our president that you would impart your wisdom upon him; that you would guard his family. We pray for our military and the families who love them. Oh father, especially for those special operators who lost their lives yesterday in defending our freedoms. You call us to repent, Lord, and this day is our response. We give it all to you for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen and Amen. Amen.”

Whatever tejek or bentway says about it is what they read on Kos or Thinkprogress or someplace like that.

All i was saying is that Rick Perry arrogantly prayed to his god believing that his god would end the drought. Oddly enough, the drought has gotten worse.
Either way, it seems you're taking some sort of perverse pleasure in seeing God seemingly unresponsive to Rick Perry's prayer.

Not at all. What I am pointing out is that Christians don't have a special connection with any deity. Sadly, Perry thinks otherwise.

What's wrong with praying for a drought to end, by the way? Rick Perry is probably doing it just for popularity, but he'll get his one way or another.

That's the arrogant part of this equation. I am sure Perry thinks his connection to a deity is extra special because he's Rick Perry.
