Yes, SPY = spider, or S&P Depository Receipts. Think of it as a mutual S&P 500 mutual fund that you can trade like a stock. That's how it works in essence. I don't understand the details of how it's organized, but as you know, it trades on the AMEX. I believe it's the highest daily average volume issue on the AMEX. There's also MDY that tracks the S&P Midcap 400. It's lower volume and larger bid/ask spread.

Per your request: Sold short on 11/21 @ 96 7/16. Covered 11/25 @ 95 3/8. This was a reversal signal if I was playing both ways. No signal since, theoretically, I'm long @ 95 3/8.
