It goes deeper than that, lj. The opposition KNOWS that Mitt's returns are accurate.

Steve scratched the surface a bit in one of his earlier posts.

Of course, if the libs were given full access to Romney's records, hay would be made until the elections. The quality of the hay is the question. AND perception, not reality is the thing.

With increased wealth, tax returns become more complicated; to the extent that the individual places all his confidence in the entity that prepares the return. Loopholes are meant to be taken advantage of, but many take a great deal of time and effort to take advantage of.

This is essentially what the folks who've gone beyond the superficial level are counting on, and hoping that an undotted "i" or an uncrossed "t" will become fodder for the grist mill.

And of course, it's bullshit. Mitt can't afford to be anything other that in complete compliance with the law.

The dems are grasping at straws, and know the pendulum is swinging away from their party.
