Keith:

I've been looking at Angola for commercial developments and have been
looking at some companies having interests there as well. From there
I have been following AMZ in the news, as they have an interest in
one of the best diamond concessions of Africa. I am trying to find out whether or not to pick up some stock, but as to now quotes are going up and down.

Some articles reached me about AMZ and their directors/shareholders and it has been considered that AMZ might be taken over. I don't know whether it is true, but I can understand there are some companies interested in the Angola project. As you might know (or find out) the situation in Angola is getting better for foreign investments.

However, I can't follow any further news about AMZ as of early this year. It might be a bit to quiet when you ask me. Other companies in the mining business have started operations or made intentions thereto, but AMZ or IDAS is no longer heard of. Last news was on Reuters from an interview of the IDAS director. He mentioned negotiations between the governement and UNITA about the IDAS/AMZ concession.

I know that Jean Boulle did some wheeling and dealing in Zaire for diamond concessions (America Diamond Buyers), and he might be involved in Angola as well.

However, tracing the company and related persons gives a lot of companies involved. I can't find any structure. I know that companeis of Jean Boulle proved to be quiet interested to invest in but there are still some blanks here and there.

I'm convinced that the AMZ stock will be hot when they start. But who can tell us when the project will commence. Some of my contacts locally also don't know about AMZ.

I might pick up some stock before end of the year. What would you advise?

regards,

Josh.

Keith: I looked into AMF some further. Do they have any activity at the moment? I mean, when you look into all releases in detail you will only find nice stories about big projects, high potentials and enormeous values. But are AMZ doing anyhting?
Further, I can't find actual mining rights they have. A lot of studies to be performed, agreements to be aproved etc.

When I buy, WHAT do I buy?

Josh.

Keith:

DRT heard about the same rumours of takeover of AMZ. -see Nord Resources 02/10/97- You find that DRT heard of takeover by NRD
-which is a company of Jean Boulle-
