<an IBM buyout of BORL? >

Paul,

Well, IBM is in the process of buying Unison Software (UNSN), which has nothing to do with Java as far as I can tell. Who knows besides IBM?

Some links (I mentioned UNSN because IBM's Tivoli Systems division, which is involved in the UNSN purchase, is the subject of the second link):

nwfusion.com

Certainly, if IBM thought Borland best fit their current strategies, they'd purchase the company. But we don't know, so we have to assume that Borland will remain independent.

Regards,
Dave
