Joe sr. wanted Joe to run for president, he knew a great way to do it would become a WW 2 war hero. so he got joe to volunteer for a suicide mission, which joe SR applied political influence to get him on the plane. the plane was loaded with fuel and was to crash into a mountain side where the germans had some heavy guns. the crew was to bail out right before it hit the mountain side. with all that fuel it blew up over the english channel
