An Etrex 30 is about all the accuracy I need. If I lose it or gets it stolen I won't cry and all it needs is AA batteries.

I remember a few years back someone bought the latest and greatest survey GPS for a bush job and it was no more accurate than mine. The calibre of GPS might make a difference if he was writing a report and had to list his survey instrument. The client might not like him charging $5000 to get to the site and then using a $300 GPS to measure the location of claim posts.

The Iridium phone btw was about $1000 with a pelican case.
