Nokia World Windows Phone 8 rumours push Nokia’s shares higher
August 6, 2012 | By Surur

Nokia’s shares closed today at $2.51, a whole 50% higher than the recent 18 year low of $1.69 on the 17th July.

The main driver for the increasingly volatile stock is likely rumours of an earlier than expected Windows Phone 8 handset announcement at Nokia World 2012 on the 5-6 September, in around 1 month’s time.

Nokia is expected to announce two Windows Phone 8 handsets there, and Bloomberg has added some corroboration to the rumour.

For the sake of Nokia’s share holders we hope the run up continues, but it is still a long way from the $11 mark of February 2011.
