Humbly report, TED, we may have a conflict with the "Pet stock." A letter to shareholders just came through the mail slot: whitmancorp.com Humble quotes: "April 10, 1991 Dear Shareholder: On April 1, 1991, the stock of Pet Incorporated was distributed to shareholders. . .shareholder of record on March 28, 1991, was mailed one share of Pet stock . . . The Internal Revenue Service has ruled that our shareholders will incur no tax upon the receipt of the stock of Pet. . . .your Pet stock will be equal to the aggregate tax basis you had. . . the remaining 64.554% should be allocated to the Pet stock. Your holding period for the Pet shares will include your holding period . . .
