Roger: Re: The main value of a software company is the expertise of its people, not existing products.

Yes and no. I have seen software companies that had terrific people who put together a terrific product. The product became a success, and the experienced people left to form another company, or to join another fledgling company. What was left was a bunch of mediocre people and a good product. Then, the company's value is the product, not the people.

The money in software development (for programmers, anyway) is joining a young firm, helping it grow at a tremendous clip, cashing in on options, and moving on to the next young firm. Loop: see "loop".

I've been concerned about BROC from day #1 of my investment because they lacked a VP of Development. They've taken care of that shortcoming, and hopefully the NetGain acquisition will take care of the new technology requirements.

It's times like this when the stock is at 4'ish that I wish I had played my typical 'disciplined investor' role and sold at 6'ish for a 20% (+) profit. Just think how many shares I could buy back now! I let the euphoria of the moment cloud my judgement back then. Unfortunately, that has happened at other times with other stocks. I'm a REAL slow learner ...

Good luck to all,
