Which has obviously delivered more advanced payloads to Mars faster, cheaper and with higher reliability.

I think it will be a while before SpaceX does Mars.

Very very smart guy running it, though (and it's a bit surprising that no one had thought to build launch vehicles on a production line like they're doing).

Actually NASA took a huge gamble with this Mars shot, and it paid off.
