If you were really serious about controlling that local deer population you would go after the does. One buck will take care of lots of does and you will never get them all.

Here in NW lower MI we have had a good increase in the coyote population in the last couple years and they have really thinned out the deer population. Coyotes are pure hell on fawns. And wolves have been sighted crossing the Straights of Mackinaw the last couple winters when the ice formed. Now all we need are some cougars to make things really interesting.

By the way a steak, sausage, etc from a doe is just as tasty.
