Romney and Ryan will reinforce the economic situation in the US in 'everyman's language'....so even the dimest can understand.....We can't continue spending more than we take in....

Amen!

If Mitt Romney announces Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate tomorrow, as has been rumored, it will be among the most politically astute decisions of his career.

As Vice President, Ryan would be an amazing conservative fiscal advisor, during a watershed era when the American voting public is declaring the economy as the most important consideration in the upcoming election.

In his seven terms in the House, Ryan has authored many well-conceived, detailed bills aimed at reducing federal spending, reforming entitlements, saving Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, re-vamping the tax system, improving healthcare, promoting economic growth, stimulating jobs creation, reducing the debt, and eliminating the deficit.

Perhaps more than anyone in the House, he has personally worked toward achieving budget sanity, and presenting workable specifics rather than the generalities, platitudes and empty promises that more often emanate from Washington.

He is courageous in defending what he sees as rational, common sense solutions to America’s fiscal woes. Here is a good example (of countless examples) – Ryan taking on Obama himself 2 ½ years ago during the healthcare summit:

The only negative I see about his candidacy is his familial history of heart failure. His father, grandfather and great-grandfather all died of heart attacks at a very early age (in their 50s). But Ryan, as would be expected of a man of his determination and drive, has attempted to tackle this problem as well in the best way he knows how – he is a fitness enthusiast, a former trainer, and author of a fitness program. He is determined to prevail over his familial difficulties, and is doing all that is within his power to accomplish that.

If tomorrow’s announcement does indeed name Paul Ryan as the republican vice presidential candidate, Americans should celebrate the opportunity to return courage, common sense, dedication, integrity and vision to the offices of president and vice president.
