Bob: best to stay away from politics here. it always gets out of hand and there are so many other places to express views. some very smart people say that, in truth, there is very little difference between the parties and what they can, or will, end up doing.

all of this is just a circus for the sheeple.

I am one who thinks the economy is still deleveraging from private to public and that never ends well. It's going to be a muttle through type affair imo for many, many more years. Now I don't know what that means for the markets as I always go with the trend.....I don't fight it. Currently, we are trending up whether we have a dip in now through October I don't know....I have dry powder ready to put to work if we do :). In some ways I hope we do so that I can get some great stocks at lower prices, I always like a good deal. Putting capital to work at October prices over the past 4 years has worked very well for me and selling in April-May for a great trade has been very fun.

Like the thread, mostly lurk.

I don't want to get into a political debate, but I will just say that the kind of Austerity proposed by Ryan and his ilk would not be good for the stock market. If you need an example of this just look across the Atlantic to Europe.
