Careful you are on the verge of discussing a passage that you have been unable to say anything about (other than quoting it) for probably the last 5 years. Of course you always leave off the first part of the story and the context. The first two verses of the passage make it clear that what Moses did was a command to execute God's justice against a people who were guilty of great sins against God and His people Israel.

1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

2 “Take full vengeance for the sons of Israel on the Midianites; afterward you will be gathered to your people.”

Are you ready now? Does God have the right to judge Human Beings or is it just you that get to decide these matters?
