thanks, the good thing about these companies, they have tons of cash, and know how to weather a downturn.

"Pick 2 or 3 of the stocks near the bottom of the chart, doing some fundamental analysis to make sure that the companies aren't going bankrupt (not always easy in this business, since so many seem to threaten bankruptcy near the bottoms, only to rise spectacularly in the months or years ahead if they can manage to reinvent themselves)."

amat, cymi, utek, are they still in good shape? your suggestions? i figure that we are going down again within the year.

i want to ask someone who has been following these companies, which ones are the strongest.

your picks? at the moment? i have not bought semi's since 2000.
