And doing ANY work on a Sabbath is a violation for which God in His goodness and wisdom has commanded the death penalty. And no this was not appealed in the New Testament. You do not appeal absolute good and absolute law. Indeed, the New Testament repeatedly affirms that all the laws in the Old Testament stand forever. Pretty clear.
