The lack of understanding by the responenet required it.

What is a "responenet"?

"According to MAPLight.org, between 2004 and 2010, senators voting against the amendment barring TSA unionization "received on average $17,404 from contributions connected to federal employee unions, while senators in favor of adoption only received $2,633 on average.""

According to that source, over a seven year period NTEU and AFGE jointly contributed a total of $1,090,900 to Senate campaigns. That's a total of $156K/yr. That's a whopping 20 cents per bargaining-unit member.

They gave 87% of this chump change to Democrats. I'm amazed that they would give a dime to any Republican. Republicans, in general, are not union friendly. It's in the genes.

"Unions' investment in Senate Democrats pays off in TSA vote"

Like most headlines these days, that's misleading. There's nothing in that piece to support that conclusion of cause and effect. Does anyone really think that any Republicans or Democrats will vote contrary to their ideology with or without these contributions? Risible. You don't have to pay a Democrat to vote pro union and a few bucks is unlikely to persuade any Republican.
