Poodle, Favorites right now: IPIC - this is a zero. It is only a matter of time. Frankly, it is a sad commentary on our legal system, but it really does not matter if Redux, etc. cause valvular disease. Breast implants do not cause autoimmune disease and where is DowCorning now (in bankruptcy). IPIC may have lots of liability insurance, but neither it nor its insurers have the billions of dollars necessary to pay off millions of claimants. HMSC - Humascan is also a zero. Even if they do introduce their product this month, it won't sell. No reimbursement and less sensitive than mammography. IDPH - Great company, great drug. Unfortunately the drug won't penetrate nearly the market that analysts anticipate. It is a niche product. The drug is approved and being marketed, all the news is out. ZONA - Phentolamine will never be approved and probably doesn't work anyway. UFEM - Not really biotech, but any company that spends $8 to sell $1 worth of goods has severe problems. You know, it has been a terrible year overall for biotech. The NASDAQ biotech index is flat or down on the year. There are numerous high flyers now in the dustbin (LIPO, ABTI, IPIC, VVUS). It is unfortunate that they and others have taken the wind out of the sails of other companies which are truly of more value than they are trading at today. But then, this is short thread...
