< 'radical' really means run of the mill conservative...... you get my drift.....<g>

Yes... we catch the double meaning... and you ARE right about that... Conservatives of the past would have nothing to do with the wacko's of today!

The leftist media have been using labels to identify anything out of the leftwing for decades. It is only in the last decade or so that people have really been generally aware of it. If you want some of the pioneering work on it you need look no further than Media Research ( www.mrc.org). In the election between President George H W Bush 41 and Clinton 86% of all Washington reporters and bureau chiefs voted for Clinton. Would anyone want to guess how they spun the reporting?

Liberals will routinely call a moderate a radical. They go apoplectic over have the socialist Obama correctly labeled.

Going back decades this mislabeling has been rampant. I remember growing up the blue dog moderate democrats were mislabeled by the media as conservative democrats. At the same time liberal Republicans were mislabeled as moderate Republicans.

Now that there are a growing number of media outlets that don't adhere to leftism, liberals are getting increasingly hostile. You need look no further than LLCF's response to your post in which he/she/it correctly identifies a problem but mislabels it. Our father's liberals would not recognize the hate filled and deceitful leftwingers who dominate the democrat party.

Yesterday's liberals had honor. They would debate on the facts and when the facts proved them wrong they would admit it. Modern liberals believe the ends justify the means. Even LLCF tacitly admits to subscribing to the Alinsky model.
