By any logic, Obama should be considered the center. There are people to the left of him and there are people to the right of him - ergo - Obama occupies the center. Obama is defining himself as the centrist - only people don't seem to grasp what he is trying to tell them. But, I am optimistic, people will get it - the sooner the better.
