What you saw wasn't a block trade, it was the total cumulative volume up to that point in time. There's no way a trade for 3+Mil shares went off in today's volume. Internet trader does this once in a while when for some reason the server goes off line.

You are making an assertion without facts. How do you know that IT does it once in a while? If it goes off-line, why should it have a large trade? It does not make sense to me because the IT always goes off-line at the end of trading each day and so one should see such entries at the end of each day; but I never see such a thing at the end of each day when the IT definitely goes off the line.
