No disagreement. But not every one of their fellow travelers is a card carrying member of the fan(atic) club. There is always a spectrum. On a public forum like SI you talk not only to the recipient of the message, but to many others - lurkers, etc. Some individuals may prove to be receptive to reasoned arguments.

....Maybe that's precisely why those on the far left are so scared, and so fond of the "banning" game.
