Our First Principles for Personalized, Patient-Centered Health Reform Obamacare isn’t working for all Americans. We deserve a better direction. The goal of the Save Our Healthcare Project is to replace Obamacare with positive, patient-centered reforms to ensure all Americans have access to high-quality care, and the opportunity to live long, healthy and independent lives. Success requires a national conversation about the best way forward, and a new class of leaders in Washington who will work to implement our shared vision. But before our fellow Americans will listen to, understand and accept our solutions, they must first understand the sincerity of our values. Below are the First Principles of a Save Our Healthcare reform plan: Principle 1 Our health is the most personal and important thing we possess, therefore its care must be under our control. Principle 2 Centralization and bureaucracy are the antithesis of personalization, and only discourage choice and innovation. Principle 3 Large-scale change should not be imposed from above. Instead, we must have the freedom to choose what is best for our families and build on proven successes. Principle 4 Advancing technology and innovation can reduce costs and increase efficiency but every individual must always own and control their personal medical information. Principle 5 States should have maximum flexibility to design the programs that serve their citizens. Principle 6 Employers and individuals purchasing health insurance must always be free to buy coverage and benefits consistent with their moral and religious beliefs.
