"Its doable: MS Surface RT to be priced at $199 "

I "doable" only if Microsoft is willing to lose $108 on each sale. We now know that Apple's gross margins are at low as 23%, and I'd assume that margin applies to its lowest priced offering, the $400 iPad 2. That means the cost of goods sold on the ipad2 is $308. I see no reason for the Surface to cost less than an iPad 2, especially considering the cost efficiencies Apple can obtain due to scale.

For any OEM who has to pay for a WindowsRT license, it's not worth it if they can't sell it for at least $500.
