Brock has done the Boston DCI show for at least the last two years. It's a must event for anyone in SFA. They displayed at DCI previously when all they had was their Take Control products. They still have their Take Control products in newer and supposedly better versions, but by not showing up at Boston DCI it is an implicit admission, IMO, that their TakeControl products are out of steam. It's almost December and if they can't even display Netgain at a tradeshow yet then I am uneasy about when this product will be deliverable.

Thanks Bob for your thoughts on the trade show. I will remember your points about the coordinated activities surrounding the show, since my company will be exhibiting in another show this time next year. When we exhibited last year, our experience was that it was quite valuable for visitors to the booth to be able to sign-up for a mailout of information. We followed-up on these contacts, and got some new business. Also I did a talk at the conference, and that really helped to raise interest.

I am very mindful though of your comments and Roger's that trade shows can be a waste of money. One company at the same exhibition we were at rented a booth that cost 3 times more than ours. The staff from the booth were coming over to us and saying "this is a total waste of money. We're only here because the boss said we had to". You can guess how much new business they got for their big outlay.

Well I'm looking forward to the Chicago show in March. This is proving to be a real exercise in patience. Thank goodness that we have Roger's eyewitness reports to help us keep the faith.
