Johnny,
everyone on this thread that has been following this stock since the mid-90's has known for at least 5 years that the high growth years at Cisco are behind them. The only people who wouldn't admit that fact are Cisco executives themselves. Now with their increased emphasis on driving shareholder value through dividend growth that is significant and predictable, we will see value investors increasingly take a look at the stock.

The nice thing about dividends with predictable growth is that you get a nice, boring, predictable return on your investment. This puts a floor under the stock price.

Growth investors won't like this turn of events, but I believe that this just bring Cisco into line with reality and their executives have now very clearly signaled to shareholders that they care about them and they will aim to boost the stock price steadily over the years to come through dividend growth.
