HOW is similar to Deadwood; a western frontier story about a cast of characters contained to a fairly small area so they bounce off one another a lot. You would need to watch season one to make sense of the new episodes. Basically, it's about a camp where the railroad is being built with the evil railroad owner, nasty camp bosses, black and Irish workers, local Indians and the preachers, brothels and shopkeepers that come with a little community like that. Good casting, acting, writing, etc. make it very watchable.
