The only partner I've not heard about is Motorola and they could have made enquiries without my knowing it. Mind you, these companies could be discussing the price of rice in China. There's certainly no guarantee they've broached the subject of whaddayayawant. . . . ????

As I see it, anyone who thinks there might be another offer will hold as long as possible. And anyone who wants a '98 close won't tender at all, but wait for the second phase in the hope TI will have to use the "long form" which requires a vote of Amati shareholders.

I'm with you in wondering how many shares TXN will get by Dec. 23. Certainly none of mine. :)
