I'm not sure what your point is, other than dirty politics is okay with you because it has all been done before.

There probably was no dirtier campaign than that of 1800 -- until now. 1800 was dirty, in that Jefferson approved the writing of lies against Adams to sway the election. It was disgusting, but very complicated. And there was a middleman (Hamilton) who exacerbated the entire problem.

Some have argued that 1800 was the worst, but I'm having a difficult time believing it was worse than what Obama has done this time around. Obama, though his surrogate, has actually tried to smear Romney with the death of a woman. Jefferson never did that (the worst of Jefferson's smear against Adams was the claim that Adams wanted to go to war against France, which was nonsense).

Worse than Obama's smear tactics is his intentional pitting of one group of Americans against the other in the most divisive, hate-filled attacks I've ever seen. To actually go to the least intelligent among us and convince them that Romney, because he has been successful, is somehow out to get them is just pathetic.

And I'm glad it is failing. It would be really sad to see Obama re-elected after what he has done. His retirement is long overdue and cannot come too soon.
