Staff I just typed a very long response and it was accidentaly wiped out, "So es must sein Gott, oder ist es fuer Gotteswillen gescheen" <gggg> In any case I was born in Romania and raised by Western standarts. The western world has it's cultural/political and civilisation roots from the Bible which was written by Jews several thousand years ago, and the nations/tribes which invaded Europe embraced/adopted the Bible as their religion (with various changes). The preaching of the Bible and their prophets are against violence and war and for peace tolerance, indivisualism, egalitarian justice (King Solomon)and love (Song of Songs)and most important learning and understanding the wisdom of the Bible. To the contrary the Koran is for Holly War (Jiad) power and strict obidience to the Mula/Religious Clerk and fulfilment of the orders of the ruler. Similar in a way to the Samuray mentality (as per my un - professional understanding). This had not hampered Sultans to erect several hundreds years ago some of the most magnificient archtectural buildings and other work of art or science which was at the time tremendously advance relative to the Europeans, who at the time had their own brand of Cristianity Fundamentalism - with human hunts, inquisition and the burning alive, of "wicked" people who did not accept the strict rules of the Church. Actualy the more east you travel the more the importance of the individual disipates and the sacrifice of the individual for the better of the society/crowd is taking more centerstage or importance. Even if simplistic the human nature, and the desire to propell ones own beliefs to others and the desire to benefit only "your/mine" offsprings brings about conflict with those not in the same circle or beliefs. I whish that the US Administration would hve an open minded approach as yours and understand the deep differences in world perception of various nations/religions. The morality of the Bible does not apply to all nations and cultures. As to Nostradamus he was a Christian, who learned between others also the writings of the Bible and for that reason the "Ultimate Evil" was of muslim origin. I think that he had the wisdom to understand the devide between the Bible and the Koran and the resulting conflict which will last for many centuries. Bosnia comes to mind. As to present conflict and the Iran Iraq episode reminds me of the interpretation relating to the sevent month of 1999 and 27 years of war. Haim
