hi bruce,

reviewing quip right now.. GREAT pick!!

your analysis was on target with your TA indicators..

here are couple more pointers:
1) looks like 17.50 is a tough resistance.. it had a hard time during late september 1997.

2) if you look closely, my trix and stochrsi did poorly during the runnup from april 1997 to late jul 1997. sell signals were given, but the stock continued to chug along.

3) to solve #2, i would use a Moving average to "confirm" the sell. that moving average would be the trigger. if you noticed the run from april to july, it NEVER crossed below the 21 day ema during the whole time.

4) RSI (14) is a good indicator. Once RSI dropped below 50 for a couple days consecutively, you knew the rally was over.

================
strategies for now:

buy stop above the 17.50 resistance, as you mentioned. great call..

then use TA and 21 day ema to exit. look for rsi (14) below 50 as well for exit signals.

keep me posted..

Chris

BTW: watch COBR..

bruce

watch AMES.. 9 day ema slowly going up again.. stochrsi 8,5 and stochrsi 14 is doing the "hook dance" <g>..

be very careful with the mkt.. small postions and follow your exit plan..

exit plan for ames would either be 21 day ema or 50 day ema..
