I'm worried about Catholic bishops' criticism that the Ryan budget cuts gov benefits to the poor like this article puts it. But, it's true that the Obamacare's insurance mandate that has had Catholics riled up too. The morality of contraception is more important at the Vatican, but American Catholics think differently because large Catholic families are a thing of the past. What aspect of birth control they are against is abortion.

It worries me because the law of "the most recent issue is the one remembered on election day" plays the most. The mandate is already an eternity old in the memory of the electorate, but for Catholics, I can't tell. Even though they're liberal as a group, I hope the mandate still has some weight with them by November.
