Hi Scott,

Sorry about that. I had found the information on a different site and it was the treasurer that sold 10K shares not the CFO. The CFO only sold 2,820 shares.

DAVID R BRADFORD SECRETARY Sold 3,000 @ $10 on 10/10/97

DARCY G MOTT VICE PRESIDENT AND TREASURER sold 10,000 @ $10 on 10/10/97

JAMES R TOLONEN EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CFO sold 2,820 @ $10 on 10/9/97

It might also be interesting to note that this was at the time there was a rumor floating around that HP was going to buy Novell.

The idea behind watching insider trading activities is that these are people that should have a fairly good idea what business has been like a few weeks before the end of the quarter. The theory is that these folks felt that $10 was a lot better price than they would get after the numbers were released. Personally I agree with that theory 100% now that I've seen the numbers. Comparing those numbers to the last few years it is my belief that Novell will be looking at increasing losses for at least the next 3 quarters. By that time Microsoft will own the small business market and be well on their way to taking over the mid size business sector.

Regards,

Don
