Defense is a transfer program; our taxes to the defense companies. Remember that $500 hammer? Transfer payment. What was the toilet seat; $1500? Transfer payment. It's not just spending that drives the deficit, either. Bush Obama tax cuts and Bush unfunded drugs played their role. So did the Bush Depression. Look, Ma; no TARP, almost no stim.
