Why should BC be "free", unlike other prescription drugs? Why no copay at all?

I would think that most people would be aware that a large number of women use the pill for reasons other than birth control, too, but they don't seem to be.

And a large number of people use all sorts of other drugs or procedures or devices for reasons other than birth control, but most of them don't have an enforced zero deductible, zero co-pay situation.

As for the objection of the Catholic organizations to paying, its for birth control, or abortificants, not for non-pregnancy related treatment.
