I worked for Ames Harris and Nevelle )paper bag company) in Emoryville, near Oakland Californin in 1960/61 and they hired no blacks. Even though African American's made up a large part of the population. I was only 18 and too stupid to even know what racism was. Two years I was there and not one black was hired. Quiet racisim.

When I went to the Mira vista country club to caddy they always put me out first. I am white and blond. I was always given preference. Even in Califonria racism was a huge problem, in the south it was pandemic.
