Hires New Rep Organizations: Fuji Electronics in Japan, Dawool
in Korea; Recently Established an Office in Texas
Dense-Pac Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:DPAC) announced today that it has expanded its rep organization to fully represent and focus on commercial OEM as well as military sales in Texas.
This move is part of a larger strategy by Dense-Pac to increase the size and sophistication of its marketing network and to take advantage of new sales opportunities domestically and internationally through Dense-Pac's new products. In addition, the company has hired new rep organizations for Japan and Korea to target commercial OEM customers needing cost-effective customized memory solutions.
Uri Levy, chairman and chief executive officer of Dense-Pac, said, "We recognize Texas as an epicenter of high technology activity with the growth of Compaq, Dell Computer, Texas Instruments and other major manufacturers located and doing business there. The time is right for Dense-Pac to increase its focus on emerging sales opportunities in that area, especially given our introduction this year of new products that are ideally suited for the laptop, PC and server markets.
"We are transforming Dense-Pac into a new company with the launch of our new smart card division, acquisition of an advanced digital imaging company and creation of customized market-specific memory devices. By selecting a larger rep organization that can cover the state and the entire south central region, we are demonstrating our increasing commitment to servicing OEM and military customers there.
"We established an office in Texas with the recent acquisition of a Texas-based firm, and we plan to strategically open new offices and add new rep organizations across the United States."
Pete Stone, president of the Texas Rep organization, Technology Representatives, Inc. (TRI), said, "We are extremely pleased with our affiliation with Dense-Pac and our expanded responsibilities targeting military customers as well as commercial OEM customers. We are very impressed with their continued introduction of new innovative products.
"I believe TRI can saturate the south central territory with Dense-Pac product offerings and provide premium customer service. By putting Dense-Pac products in the hands of our 15 sales representatives, TRI can make a real difference in exposure to the marketplace.
"We have three offices in Texas, and our principals have combined experience of more than 40 years servicing the computer, telecom, military, industrial, commercial, and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) military markets. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with such an innovative company like Dense-Pac Microsystems."
Chuck Gamer, vice president of sales and marketing for Dense-Pac, added, "Dense-Pac's sales office, located in the greater Dallas area, will work closely with Technology Representatives, Inc., an independent organization with a staff of 15 sales representatives, to support commercial OEM and military customers throughout the central United States.
"TRI has won numerous performance awards and replaces as of Nov. 29 the previous rep organization in Texas, which had one individual sales rep on staff and focused on military markets only."
Dense-Pac has expanded its marketing efforts abroad by hiring Fuji Electronics, a $160-billion company, to market its products to commercial and industrial customers in Japan and plans to introduce several new products there. Dense-Pac hired Dawool International to focus on sales in Korea.
Dawool, with offices in Los Angeles and Korea, is targeting commercial companies in the digital camera, server, workstation, cellular phone and hand-held communication devices markets. Although the Asian financial markets are currently undergoing adjustments, the Far East is a huge potential market for Dense-Pac's technology, which offers time- and cost-saving memory solutions for commercial and OEM customers there. Dense-Pac's relationships with all rep organizations are based on performance.
Dense-Pac Microsystems, Inc. designs and manufactures proprietary and patented three-dimensional high-density memory products that allow commercial, industrial and military customers to pack huge amounts of memory into small spaces.
Its commercial products include applications for cellular phones and other hand-held personal communications, laptops and notebooks, super computers and servers, digital cameras, portable electronic organizers, storage devices, electronic keyboards and digital sound systems, medical instrumentation, airborne and space avionics, and such diverse applications as space satellites, missiles, and high performance auto engines.
